Public Ticket Night Registration

Mount Wilson's 60-inch Telescope Public Ticket Nights make this remarkable experience accessible to visitors not associated with a large group. Come up and observe through the first large, precision-made reflecting telescope in the world, the one that revolutionized the technology. You will be looking through the historic telescope that astronomer Harlow Shapley used to measure the size of our Milky Way Galaxy for the first time and find our position in it, removing us from the center. This special viewing session is limited to 20 observers and runs from 7:45 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
