The Search for Life, a lecture by Dr. John Mulchaey, Director of the Carnegie Observatories, in Pasadena and Chile.
One of the most fundamental questions in astronomy is: how common is life elsewhere in the Universe? With the discovery of thousands of planets around nearby stars, the answer to this question may finally be in reach. Dr. Mulchaey will describe how new generations of instruments, telescopes, and space missions are being designed to look for the signatures of life elsewhere.
